Harry was inspired to form the Games after attending the US Department of Defense’s 2012 Wounded Warrior Games. Of that moment Harry was “Sport was the magic that I witnessed.
Having just come back from Afghanistan myself, seeing the wounded, injured and sick and seeing the effect this was having on all the families, and just the weight—the load on defense and on the individuals and on the rehabilitation programs. There just wasn’t enough being done.”

Give Harry his props, he admits that he stole “from the Americans” even if he can’t help but brag that he made his Games “bigger and better.”

Royal Family News – Harry Founded The Invictus Games
While Harry is basking in the glory of the Games, his behavior with his family leaves something to be desired.
After four years of constant ranting about the monarchy, it should be no surprise that Harry is on his own this week, set to stay at a hotel and not allowed to visit with the family he has hassled in print and in public.
Harry’s spokesman told the New York Post on Tuesday that Harry will not see his father, who is undergoing cancer treatment, “due to His Majesty’s full program. The duke, of course, is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
