Prince Harry and Meghan Fear Archie Won’t be a Prince under Charles’ Reign as King

British Royal family news teases a new report revealed that Prince Charles has made it clear to Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle that their children will not bear the titles of “prince” and “princess” once he takes the throne. The Sussexes, reportedly furious at the proclamation, told Oprah in their pre-recorded interview that Archie wouldn’t be a prince because of his black heritage.
But under the 1917 Letters Patent, the grandchildren of the sovereign are to inherit titles automatically, which means that the Sussex kids, Archie and Lilibet, would be granted titles upon Prince Charles’ ascension to the throne. A source close to the couple recently shared that Charles plans to change legal documents in order to keep the Harry and Meghan’s children from having any royal titles, but Palace Insiders close to Charles insist that this is part of the Prince of Wales’ plans to slim down the monarchy.
Archie And Lilibet Will Likely Not Inherit Royal Titles
It’s an old rule that the grandchild of the reigning sovereign will have the right to be a “prince” or “princess”, but according to sources, Charles will change key legal documents when he ascends the throne and this could mean that Archie and Lilibet will likely live their lives without royal titles.
Meghan Markle, 39, addressed the possibility in her interview with Oprah Winfrey, accusing the royal family of trying to deny her child/children their birthrights. It was apparently something that hurt the Sussexes, as they unleashed a string of accusations against the royal family.
But according to The Mail, the decision is far from a personal vendetta, as believed by Harry, Meghan and some close friends, Charles is of the opinion that the public would want a slimmed down monarchy.
“Charles has never made any secret of the fact that he wants a slimmed-down Monarchy when he becomes King,” a source told The Sun. “He realizes that the public don’t want to pay for a huge Monarchy and, as he said, the balcony at Buckingham Palace would probably collapse.”

As for the full details of Charles’ plans to reduce the number of working royals, nothing has been disclosed yet. But this sort of change needs legal documents to be adjusted. For example, in 2012, Queen Elizabeth issued a new Letter’s Patent of her own ahead of Prince George’s birth that made a significant change and ensured that all of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s children will receive the titles of “prince” and “princess”. Therefore, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis bear the titles, which is a gift from the Queen.
Even though Prince William and Kate’s children are, like Lilibet and Archie, great-grandchildren of the Sovereign, because William is in direct line to the monarchy, his first child would automatically be a “prince” from birth. The Queen amended the old standard and ensured that all of the couple’s children, including any daughters, would be titled.
For now, Prince Charles has refused to address the rumors of his plans to slim down the monarchy. “We are not going to speculate about the succession or comment on rumors coming out of America,” a royal insider told The Sun.

Charles is a proud man and he has been humiliated in public by Harry, there will be consequences imo.
They hate monarchy, so I can't understand why it's so important a title to Archie and Lilibet. Remember you told the World monarchy was a circus!!!!
Who cares!!!! No one, really, but MM, who wants to merch Archie and a royal title.
Harry knows the rules and Meghan is so publicy hungry, she should have thought before she pushed Harry to break with the family and lie at every interview given. Their problems are their own making and have nothing to do with the race of their children. Meghan can't get over marrying the spare not the next in line for being king.
Again, if any of Harry and Megan's public comments about wanting privacy, wanting to be free and in Harry's own words not wanting to be "trapped" by being royalty and it's duties and obligations had been honest then they should be pleased their family is now free of titles and obligations to the Royals, UK and Commonwealth. The problem is these two can say one thing but want another. How could the Royals or anyone make them both happy if they the are not honest and truthful about what they want. If they want something that is not possible, like serving the UK military poolside from Hollywood then they both need to be adult enough to know not even the Queen or King of England can give into some of their children's rediculous requests and demands. Harry and Megan's children however should, when they are old enough be able to take a position or have opportunities to serve the royal family, UK and Commonwealth. I don't believe if the are decent people they should be denied an opportunity based on the spiteful foolishness of their parents.
I DON'T KNO Y MEGAN & HARRY WOULD, COULD OR SHOULD CARE ABOUT THEIR CHILDREN INHERITING ANYTHING ESPECIALLY A TITLE. THEY CHOSE TO LEAVE THEIR POSITIONS & TITLES SO DEAL WITH IT! THEY THINK THEY CAN HAVE IT BOTH WAYS & SEE THEY CAN'T & THATS GOOD. I HAVE NO SYMPATHY!
THEY chose to not give their children titles because they wanted them to grow up and have a normal life. Now H & M throw in the race card because they have nothing else to catch the public’s ears. I’m not saying all but most people don’t treat skin color an differently than their own however I find it interesting that that’s really all Megan is focusing on is her race so of course it will draw attention from the public and in her eyes she’s been victimized. I think what really happened was while they were working royals she saw their popularity soar and she decided that she wanted to control their exposure and they are paid directly for whatever they themselves release. She doesn’t like being second and she wanted more than she was earning with the RF. Remember how many celebrities are paid millions for an exclusive photo of their newborns? It all comes down to greed while running over whomever is standing in her way. Moreover Harry, I’d hate to see you get plowed under.
It seems Meghan is a publicity seeker. She wants what she wants n bullies Harry. He should not have married her. The children will suffer.
