Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Aren’t Prepared To Lose Their Royal Titles

The Sussex title bestowed on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has managed to survive through the several attacks the couple launched on the Royal Family.

However, there’s been a sort of calm for months now, during which time the Royal Family were spared from the Sussexes’ very public wrath.

With Prince Harry’s ongoing security case and the royal prepared to go all out to get back his police protection in the UK, he could likely make some damaging remarks about the Royal Family.

According to a Royal Family source, the royals are prepared to strike back if he resumes his attacks. The first thing to go would be their Sussex title.

Meghan Markle Shares the Significance of the Sussex Title To Her Family

Everytime that the Sussexes have made disparaging remarks about the royal family, royal fans have called for the stripping of their titles.

Now, it may be a bit harder to take away their titles, as they’ve converted it into a family name for their small family of four.

Meghan first made this revelation on her Netflix cooking show, ‘With Love, Meghan,’ when she corrected actress and producer Mindy Kaling about her last name. “It’s so funny you keep saying Meghan Markle. You know I’m ‘Sussex’ now,” she said, going on to explain the reason the name holds such weight for her, “I didn’t know how meaningful it would be to me, but it just means so much to go, ‘This is our family name. Our little family name’.”

It’s possible to take away titles from a member of the Royal Family, but the procedure involves a run through the parliament. If indeed Harry and Meghan reach that bridge where they tip the Royal Family over, an act of parliament is the one thing that can turn them into ordinary citizens.

Meanwhile, Meghan is sending signals out there to make sure this scenario never comes to past. In her PEOPLE interview promoting her Netflix series, the Duchess said, “I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together. It means a lot to me.”

She went on to describe the name as part of their shared love story.
