Harry felt like he was always in his brother Prince William’s shadow while Meghan Markle wanted to become a movie star.

Royal author and expert Tom Quinn says that one of the reasons why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle clicked so well is because they both felt like they wanted to achieve more in their lives.

Harry always felt like the ‘spare’ in his family while Meghan had dreams and ambitions with her Hollywood career. She didn’t want to settle at just being a television actress.

Harry even wrote in his tell-all book, Spare, “Two years older than me, Willy was the Heir, whereas I was the Spare. I was the shadow, the support, the Plan B. I was brought into the world in case something happened to Willy.”

Royal Family News: Harry And Meghan Had A Lot In Common From The Start

According to Page Six, Quinn said that both Harry and Meghan simply wanted bigger roles in their lives. He said, “I think that’s why he clicked with Meghan because she comes from a society where if you work hard and you’re talented, you can get to the top. You can’t change the fact that William and Kate [Middleton] are number one.”

Quinn continued, “All Harry’s complaining is really about the fact that he’s not number one, he doesn’t have a bigger role. It’s obvious when you think about it, but I think she thought she could come into the royal family and be the star. And of course, she [Meghan] couldn’t because the monarchial structures are medieval, they’re rigid.”

So far both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not made any comments about the matter.
