A source spilled to the mag, “There’s a lot of tradition surrounding the holidays with his family, and they both have really loved that in the past.” Depending on what stage the COVID-19 crisis is in, they’re “hopeful that they can all go back together and spend it as a family.”
The Duke And Duchess Of Sussex Are thinking About A Big Trip For The Holidays This Year
Per tradition, the royal family typically celebrates Christmas together at Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham Estate. While the pandemic has wreaked havoc with the family’s usual travel plans, it has been reported that for now the Queen still plans to spend the holidays at her Norfolk home.
Prince Harry and Meghan were a part of the festivities for Christmas at Sandringham in 2017 and 2018. Last year was different as we all know, with Prince Harry and Meghan holidaying in a borrowed Vancouver Island hideaway with baby Archie and Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland. At this time they are living in California as a family unit; there is no word as to whether or not Doria would also spend Christmas in the UK.
Even though they are now an ocean away living their best life, the sources claim that the rehomed pair is, “eager to get back to spend time with Harry’s family,” and for their son Archie to spend time with his paternal relatives including Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Reportedly Want To Travel Back To The U.K. For Christmas
Except there is a catch in all of the proposed festivities. If Harry and Meghan travel to the U.K. for the holidays, will they observe the two week quarantine period before seeing the royal family? Prince Charles has already had COVID and the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh are in an at-risk age group.
Perhaps this is all ado about nothing. Harry and Meghan made it a point to say that they would travel frequently between continents but that has not materialized, COVID or not. You know what they say, where there’s a will there’s away.
Nonetheless, Harry is expected back in London for the summer unveiling of the statue he and his brother Prince William commissioned in honor of their mother, the late Princess Diana, at Kensington Palace.
