Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Disappoint Netflix With Royal Visit Fail

The royal family managed to keep the photographers away from Queen Elizabeth II’s first meeting with her great-granddaughter and namesake Lilibet Diana after her parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, made it to the UK with their children for the first time since 2020 last week.

Netflix Wanted Reunion Photos

Although we did see one photo of Lilibet released where her red hair shows her striking resemblance to her father, just as her brother, Archie, has red hair, there were none of the Sussexes and Queen Elizabeth included. The queen spent last Saturday with Harry, Meghan, and the children away from the spotlight where they celebrated Lilibet’s first birthday.

However, the lack of cameras and photos from both meetings apparently disappointed Netflix, according to royal expert Angela Levin.

“I heard Netflix wanted these pictures of them with the royals,” Levin said on the British talk show GB News, according to The New York Post. “Because they would have sold it. It would be very valuable, very valuable to them.

Prince Harry and Meghan famously signed a deal to make a Netflix documentary series about their lives and the streaming channel thought they’d be getting footage and photos of the Queen with the Sussex kids and their parents, but no cameras taking public footage were allowed at the first meeting, as per an agreement Harry and Meghan made when they first left England called The Sandringham Agreement.

Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Were Told No

According to Levin, Harry and Meghan wanted to have a photographer at the initial meeting, but the queen put a stop to it. To their credit, Harry and Meghan asked the queen’s permission before bringing one in.

“Harry and Meghan wanted to see the Queen as soon as possible, so she saw them on the first day,” Levin said. “She went in, and then they asked if they brought their own photographer and they asked if he could take a picture of the two Lilibets, and she said, ‘No, absolutely not possible.'”

Levin said The Firm made sure neither the children nor their parents were photographed with any of the senior royals still performing their duties as expected, and she was pleased with the outcome, saying the palace was “so clever and cunning that they never had a chance to be photographed with any of the senior royals.” Indeed, any photos of Harry and Meghan come from the first day of Jubilee festivities and they are only with each other.
