However, many Royal Experts are now asking whether Prince Harry and Meghan actually did as much due diligence as they claimed. Both Harry and Meghan Markle have suggested that they engaged in much research before choosing to make their gigantic purchase. Yet, according to multiple reports, California is losing residents at a shocking pace.
Due to the incredibly restrictive nature of California’s lockdown policies vis-à-vis the Coronavirus pandemic, residents of the state Prince Harry and Meghan have chosen to call home are fleeing in droves. In fact, over a ten year period, California has seen a net loss of about a million residents. It’s not just the prison-like restrictions imposed on California’s population by governor Gavin Newsom, however, that has experts scratching their heads over Harry and Meghan’s choice.
It’s the wildfires, mudslides, and earthquakes that many are worried Prince Harry and Meghan will now experience at some point in their lives.
Meghan And Prince Harry’s Home In Montecito Could Be At Risk
The fact is, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new home in rich Montecito could burn down. Montecito has seen wildfires and horrific mudslides in the past and one has to wonder if Prince Harry and Meghan knew that before dropping $14.5 Million for a home in the area.
For example, did Meghan and Prince Harry know that it was only 3 years ago that Santa Barbara County saw one of the worst wildfires in modern memory? Because of the wildfire and the subsequent mudslides, 21 people died, there were 2 missing persons, 129 destroyed residences, and 307 damaged residences. It’s doubtful that either Meghan or Harry knew that the economic damage to the area was over $120 million in property losses, in Santa Barbara County according to deadline.com. (The fire itself caused over $2.2 Billion in total damages.)
Understanding this, one has to ask why Prince Harry and Meghan couldn’t have been satisfied with finding a nice place up in Vancouver.
Current Wildfires Are Making Harry And Meghan’s Home State “Hell”
While some might shrug off the potential for Harry and Meghan Markle to lose their home to a fire, it’s worth noting that California’s wildfires are currently burning an area larger than two of America’s eastern states. Surely Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can’t be entirely ignorant to that fact, or to the fact that according to CNN, “nearly 16,500 firefighters have been battling 28 major wildfires in the state, which have left 24 people dead and over 4,200 structures destroyed.”
It seems inconceivable that Prince Harry and Meghan would pretend that everything is all okay simply because they’ve enjoyed a major payday through the Netflix deal they signed recently. As billionaire environmentalist and former Democratic presidential candidate Tom Steyer said of the fires raging in California, “These are intense, huge blazes. This is a huge, immediate, urgent problem.”
Indeed, it’s no wonder that some British commentators have suggested that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would likely have remained much safer had they chosen to remain in the UK.
