Finally, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have that financial freedom thing in the bag. Variety has confirmed that the two unemployed 30-somethings are working with Netflix.
They reportedly have a multi-year deal at Netflix, to make documentaries, feature films, scripted television shows, and children’s series.
It was previously reported that they were pitching movies and TV projects to Hollywood and apparently someone bit. Just for the record, Wall Street isn’t impressed, the stock is down for the day.
Will the public be more enthusiastic about the fodder the Markle’s will develop?

Meghan and Harry issued this statement: “Our lives, both independent of each other and as a couple, have allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit: of courage, resilience, and the need for connection. Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shining a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.”
The couple will reportedly develop a range of series about stories and issues that are close to their hearts (translated: how they want the world to live).
How Will Harry And Meghan Inspire The World?
“As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us, as is powerful storytelling through a truthful and relatable lens,” they said. “We are pleased to work with Ted and the team at Netflix whose unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action.”
Just a thought: “Ted” is actually Netflix’s CEO and they will be working FOR him. Already they’re putting him in his place!

If their pompous and one-sided bio is a good indication, we can look forward to some cringy, ‘do as I say, not as I do,’ content that shames, bullies, and makes devils of anyone who disagrees with them. Fun!

The Markle’s Have Friends In High Places
Harry and Meghan have absolutely no producing experience and Netflix isn’t in the practice of signing people who don’t know what they’re doing. Is it a coincidence that Barack and Michelle Obama have a deal with Netflix and it’s been reported that Meghan considers Michelle a “role model?”
Maybe, maybe not, but it’s also curious that another of her “role models,” Oprah, allegedly arranged for Meghan’s living arrangements. Maybe Harry and Meghan’s first project could be all about the benefits of having friends in his places?
