They might be British royals, but there is no way that Meghan Markle is going to skip out on any of her favorite American traditions and past times. While it’s obvious that members of the British royal family do not celebrate Thanksgiving, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did share a sweet message on their Instagram account to help mark the holiday this past week. Here’s what you need to know.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Share Sweet Thanksgiving Message
The message was simple but one that was well appreciated by royal family fans that live in the United States. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex wrote, “Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours,” signed by Their Royal Highness The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.” And because the Sussexes are as social media savvy as it gets, they also added a fall leaf emoji in the caption.

It was earlier reports that Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their adorable six-month-old tot Archie Harrison would be spending their first Thanksgiving as a family with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland in Los Angeles. And while the Sussexes have not shared any updated photos on their Instagram account, they have been very quiet lately. There’s also no indication that they are in London, which has prompted a lot of royal observers to assume that yes, they are in Los Angeles. So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments nor have they confirmed any of the Sussexes’ travel plans.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Los Angeles Plans
What’s more, further reports also indicate that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are looking to spend Christmas with Doria as well. Instead of spending the holidays with the rest of the royal family and Queen Elizabeth at her Sandringham Estate, they instead want to spend a low-key Christmas on their own. Seeing how they’ve dealt with so much pressure and stress this past year, no one blames them for wanting to be out of the spotlight for some time.
Now, whether or not Prince Harry got to enjoy his first American turkey as a husband to an American wife remains to be seen. Either way, we have a feeling that the Sussexes got exactly what they wanted – and that’s nothing but peace and love with the ones they care the most about.
