Prince Harry wants the British press to know that he’s had enough of all the bullying, negative headlines and “relentless propaganda” against him and his wife Meghan Markle.
As a matter of fact, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have launched a power and emotional attack on the press and are even taking legal action against some sites and publications, including The Mail on Sunday. Here’s what you need to know.
Prince Harry wrote an open letter to the public and the press and published it on the couple’s official Sussex Royal site. In his post, he said that the media has been attacking his wife Meghan Markle in the same way they once attacked his mother Princess Diana, who passed away back in 1997.
Prince Harry Compared His Wife’s Suffering To His Mother Princess Diana’s
Knowing all of the pain Princess Diana had endured because of the constant and scathing criticism from the press, he doesn’t want his wife Duchess Meghan go through the same thing. That’s why the prince is taking matters into his own hands and launching an attack on those who have been nothing but vicious to his wife and his family.
“I cannot begin to describe how painful it has been,” the Duke of Sussex wrote, adding that he would no longer be a “silent witness to her private suffering. I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditized to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person. I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are attacking the Daily Mail mostly because they published an embarrassing but very private letter that Meghan Markle wrote to her father Thomas Markle Senior following their wedding back in 2018.
Meghan Markle’s Letter To Her Father Thomas Described Her Heartbreak
In the letter Meghan told her father that he was “breaking her heart into a million pieces” each and every time he aired out their family’s dirty laundry to the press.
Meanwhile, Meghan Markle has initiated legal proceedings against the Mail on Sunday, which is also the sister paper to the Daily Mail and its parent company, Associated Newspapers.
Until then, royals fans will just have to wait and see what will happen next! In the meantime, keep up with Celebrating the Soaps for all the latest news right here!
