Now it’s back again. While there’s been no confirmation whatsoever from the couple, it seems a new change in the neighborhood might actually be prompting their move. I mean, Ariana Grande just sold her multi-million dollar Montecito estate, will the ex senior royals follow suit?
No, the new change isn’t Ariana Grande selling her impressive home. The new change I was referring to is the new measures put in place to combat the high crime rate happening around the neighborhood.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle – Hunting For New Mansion In Exclusive California Gated Community
According to close sources, Harry and Meghan are searching for a new mansion in an exclusive gated community that is 10 miles from their current property. Getting a house in the neighborhood, the Santa Barbara News-Press reported, can set anyone back a whooping $22 million.
So it’ll definitely be an upgrade from the $14 million luxury mansion that the couple bought in June 2020. It boasts nine bedrooms and 19 bathrooms. Since buying the house, the couple has welcomed a daughter, Lilibet, who was born in June the following year.
The impressive property is expected to sell fast if Harry and Meghan ever list it, as has spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. Apart from the eye-catching views, the mansion itself boasts a swimming pool, private cinema, spa, gym and wine cellar.
It even boasts of a separate guest house that accomodates Meghan’s mother when she comes to visit the family and spend time with her young grandchildren.
New Face Recognition Security System To Be Installed Throughout The Montecito Neighborhood To Prevent Criminal Activities
Their move is coming after it was reported that the place was being targeted by “sophisticated out-of-the-area theft gangs” specializing in high-value property crime. To fight the growing threat, the Santa Barbara’s Sheriff Department has decided to install six license plate recognition cameras around celeb hotspot Montecito, where the Duke and Duchess live.
Stars living in the area include Adam Levine and his family, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and their young daughter, Ellen DeGeneres, Ariana Grande, Rob Lowe, “Friends” alum Jennifer Aniston, and Justin Bieber’s long-time manager Scooter Braun.
The Montecito association messaged locals, including Harry and Meghan, to alert them about the changes that will be made “in response to the high-value property crime we’ve experienced recently.”
The warning added: “These crimes are being committed by sophisticated out-of-the-area theft gangs.”
The purpose of the 24/7 surveillance cameras, which will be powered by sunlight, is to see who entered the neighborhood the time any heist takes place. The $2,500 cameras will also assist in finding missing persons, stolen vehicles, and other investigations as part of a year-long trial.
