Royal experts are predicting that the reason Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still want to meddle with the Royal Family is because they want to keep their brand relevant. This is coming after the pair announced that they’re excited and honored to be invited back to the U.K. for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

According to a PR expert, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are looking for ways to “top up their brand” by taking advantage of their royal connections.

The claims were made by Pauline Maclaran, Professor of Marketing and Consumer Research at Royal Holloway, who noted that the Sussexes’ brand in America strongly rely on how long they can continue to be relevant by playing the royal cards. She added that their connections to royalty gives them a “competitive edge” over Hollywood celebrities.

The PR expert told Express.co.uk: “I think they really need to top up their brand with a little bit of royalty and reinforce their connections.

“Of course, there are the family connections too and I’m sure the families do want some kind of reconciliation.

“But I can’t help but think Harry and Meghan are definitely trying to reinforce their brand with the royal connections and being part of these very crucial celebrations.

“If Harry and Megan don’t keep up the royal connections then really their brand in the US has not got a competitive edge to differentiate them more strongly from other celebrities.”

However, according to another royal source, the couple are told to keep a low profile when they arrive in the U.K. and to avoid attracting drama as the nation celebrates the Queen’s 70 years of reign.

Chatting on Royally Us with PR expert Lina Citreon, host Christina Garibaldi said: “They [Harry and Meghan] are one of the most recognisable couples in the world but they also wanted to straddle that royal life.

“You know, when they were told they couldn’t, they’re still using their HRH titles and things, so it seems like they’re still pushing the royal life but don’t really want to be associated with it either.”
