As a matter of fact, Prince Harry in particular wants to shield little Archie from the public eye. So, does that mean we won’t be getting Instagram updates about his toddler life? Maybe. Here’s what you need to know.
According to The Sunday Times of London, sources that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want their son Archie to be a private citizen. In other words, he might have a strong connection to the royal family, but he won’t be obligated to do all of the same things that his royal cousins have to do.
Combining Privacy With A Royal Title Can Be Difficult But Is Possible
And while a lot of people can’t help but wonder if this is possible, Prince Harry thinks it is. He believes that combining a private life with that of an official royal role might be hard, but it can be a “tricky balancing act’ at the same time.
While Archie will have a right to be called His Royal Highness, that might not happen until the Prince of Wales becomes king. However, he is not obliged to use the title.
A friend close to Prince Harry told the publication that he is so in love with his son, that he is willing to do anything he can to make sure that Archie has a normal upbringing. The source also added that privacy was more precious to Prince Harry “than to almost any other member of the royal family.’’
Much More Privacy At Frogmore Cottage Than At Buckingham Palace
Right now it appears as though Archie does have an advantage over his royal cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis back in London.
That’s because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have opted to live in Frogmore Cottage near Windsor Castle, where they will have a little bit more privacy than back at Kensington Palace.
Archie might also be the first family member eligible to be a future President of the United States and heir to the British throne at the same time, thanks to his mom Meghan’s American citizenship.
