Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have done their best to introduce thrill and drama to their upcoming Netflix documentary, which they both executive produced.
Across the 5-episode series, fans will get to see the sacrifices, the determination and the grit that’s needed to take part in the sport in a competitive level.
You’d think that Harry, who is a long-time competitive Polo player, would appear in the teaser, but no. Hopefully, he’ll appear in the docuseries to the delight of fans.
Prince Harry – Hopes To Be Polo’s ‘Drive To Survive’ With New Sport Documentary
When you hear the word polo, what do you think? Men and women in tight pants, swinging mallets and riding around on horsebacks? I think that about sums up the image that most of us have towards the sport.
Well no more, because Harry is looking forward to peeling back the layers so that fans can get to see the sport and discover why it’s worth falling in love with.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, this documentary may well do for Polo what ‘Drive To Survive’ series did for Formula 1 and ‘Full Swing’ did for golf. Let’s not forget what CNN’s ‘Living Golf’ continues to do for the sport.
Perhaps Prince Harry’s documentary is going to bring the sport to a whole new audience, and if not, it’s got a lot of drama to keep even the most sports-averse of us entertained throughout its run.
Prince Harry’s – Statement On the Polo Docuseries
“Polo is not just a sport, polo is a lifestyle,” we hear one of the global stars taking part in the fly-on-the-wall series say, as we see men riding around in horsebacks.
“For sure it’s glamorous. It’s a sexy sport too. Dirty, sweaty boys, riding,” the mother of Timmy Dutta, a young player with team Dutta Corp, teases at one point of the trailer.
There’s a lot of drama and tension as the men prepare to face off for the chance to bring home the US Polo Open Championship cup.
One of those delicious drama involves a competition between a father and a son, who are both hellbent on beating each other for the final glory.
‘Polo’ releases on Netflix On Dec. 10.
As a sport he grew up loving and playing, Prince Harry is perfectly placed to explore the passion it takes to become an elite polo player.
“This series offers audiences an unprecedented, behind-the-scenes look into the passion and determination driving some of the world’s elite polo players, revealing the grit behind the glamor. We’re proud to showcase the true depth and spirit of the sport — and the intensity of its high-stakes moments,” Prince Harry said in a statement on Netflix’s Tudum blog site.
