Even though Buckingham Palace reportedly warned the Sussexes to keep details from the meeting as private as possible, insiders seem to have been leaking certain details.
While the actual conversation that happened in the room is still kept tightly under wraps, we now know how the Sussexes felt following the meeting.
Meghan Markle Didn’t Feel Very Welcomed By the King and Queen
This July saw King Charles and Queen Camilla, and Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their kids together under the same roof for the first time since 2022.
Following the brief meeting, Harry, Meghan and the kids traveled back to their home in Montecito. Now we’re hearing that Meghan did not feel especially welcome by her in-laws.
“One gets the sense that, from Meghan’s perspective, the reunion with Charles and Camilla wasn’t entirely warm and fuzzy,” royal author Christopher Andersen told Page Six.

However, it’s questionable how Andersen got his information, since the meeting was a private one.
In fact, prior to Harry and Meghan meeting the King and Queen at Highgrove House, they’d agreed not to leak details of the meeting to the press. A source told Vanity Fair the King was quite insistent on it.
“The king wanted to see Harry and the children,” a Vanity Fair source confirmed. “A time was agreed for the Sussexes to come to Highgrove on Friday afternoon, and it was uncharacteristically last-minute for the king. Everyone was sworn to secrecy so that the meeting could remain private.”
“Charles wanted Camilla to be there for moral support and because she has been a pillar of strength for him throughout all the drama with Harry, and she dropped everything,” the Vanity Fair insider added. “She told no one—not even her family. She just got in the car and headed over. They were all on a mission to keep the meeting as watertight as possible.”
“The agreement was made before they met the king that nothing would be shared—no photos, no details. It was a top-secret arrangement and they pulled it off, and frankly they are delighted about that,” the source said.
