People In The UK Are Unhappy?
New polling about the former working royals gives an indication of how the general public feels about the return of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The survey, published by the Daily Express on September 3, asked a very blunt question about whether the couple should be seen alongside the monarch and other senior royals.
The title of the report left little to the imagination, as it said, “Brutal blow for Prince Harry and Meghan as Brits issue damning verdict.”

Admittedly, this was not a nationally representative poll. It was an online vote conducted among Daily Express readers, who chose whether to participate.
Nevertheless, more than 5,100 people responded, and fewer than 100 felt the couple should appear in public with the Royal Family. In total, 5,029 gave Prince Harry and Meghan Markle the thumbs down.
In the comments section of the discussion in the Express, many critics arrived to have their say about the poll.
One of them penned, “There are many ‘members of the RF’ which we hardly ever see and never hear from. They could do that. But there is no limelight, stardom or MONEY in that.”

Another reader wrote, “That was her One Fan .. That Welcomed Them Back…. Most of the UK Never. Ever Want to See Them … Let Alone All this Bombarbment and Pics of Them.”
Here’s another example of sentiments expressed by the public who read the article: “Try moving to South Africa. They probably won’t want them either, but it’s very far away!!!”
The Waleses Remain More Popular
Prince Harry’s popularity has trended slightly upwards over the past year, but both Sussexes remain unpopular with much of the British public.
Now that they are back, the possibility of them attending public family events, such as Christmas at Sandringham, remains a source of concern for critics.
YouGov’s July tracker found that 33 percent of Britons held a favourable opinion of Prince Harry, compared with 58 percent who viewed him negatively. Meghan was viewed favourably by 22 percent and unfavourably by 65 percent.
Those results suggest that many people might be unhappy to see the Sussexes appearing alongside the monarch and other working royals.
Some commentators also believe it could be especially awkward for Prince William and Catherine, who are reportedly unhappy about Harry and Meghan’s return to the UK.
