Prince Harry At 40-A Deep Dive into His Mid-Life Crisis And the Impact Of Family Estrangement

British Royal Family news and updates reveal that Prince Harry, soon to be age forty, remains estranged from family and old friends describe him as “lost”. He’s right at the age to have a midlife crisis, and so far it looks like his September birthday won’t have his family of origin involved.

Prince Harry Will Celebrate At Home In California

Prince Harry is gearing up to celebrate his 40th birthday on September 15, but it seems unlikely his brother, Prince William, the future King of England, will extend any birthday wishes.

The adventurous royal is set to kick off his fifth decade with a star-studded celebration planned by his wife, Meghan Markle, 42, as reported by Page Six.

However, this celebration will take place in Montecito, California, a staggering 5,000 miles away from the family he grew up with after the loss of Princess Diana when he was 12.

Recently, Harry found himself in the same room as William for the first time in over a year, but there was no sign of reconciliation.

Reports suggest that the once inseparable brothers did not exchange a word, and William is not keen on having Harry at his future coronation.

British Royal Family News – Not A Word Spoken Between The Brothers At A Recent Family Funeral

In 2020, Harry made the decision to step away from royal duties and start a new life in America. Recently, he returned to the UK to honor his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, a dedicated royal courtier and husband to Princess Diana’s sister, Lady Jane Fellowes.

According to a source, “William is not in communication with Harry,” following the fallout from Harry’s infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey and the publication of his memoir, “Spare.”

Another royal insider, familiar with both brothers, remarked, “William is extremely upset-I doubt anything can be done to repair their relationship.”

On Thursday, the two brothers were present at the service for Fellowes held at St Mary’s Church in Snettisham, near the royal Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

The Pastor Described The Atmosphere

The Reverend Dan Tansey, who led the service, expressed his astonishment at the presence of both William and Harry, especially with around 300 attendees in the congregation.

Observers remarked on the noticeable distance between the two brothers, who refrained from any conversation. He shared with the Daily Mail, “As I was thanking the congregation on their way out, Prince William shook my hand, and shortly after, Prince Harry did the same.

It was a delightful surprise to see them both, though less unexpected for William to attend-I don’t recall them talking, but many family members and friends were engaging with them.”

The brothers last gathered in the same location during King Charles’ coronation in May, after which Harry returned to the United States on the very same day.

This Is What Caused The Rift Between The Royals

William, 42, reached his breaking point when Harry mentioned Kate Middleton in his book, suggesting she played a role in his decision to don a Nazi costume at a party in 2005.

Both Middleton and King Charles, who are currently facing their own battles with cancer, were labeled as “racist” royals in another book by Omid Scobie, a close associate of Markle.

Scobie claimed they questioned the skin color of Harry and Markle’s mixed-race children; although Meghan is very light skinned, her father is African American.

According to sources who spoke to Page Six earlier this summer, Harry would be open to reconciling with his father, provided the king permits him and his family royal security.

This would include Markle, their 5-year-old son Archie, and 3-year-old daughter Lilibet—to have royal security while in the UK.

Prince Harry Merely Wants Security Protection

A royal insider shared, “King Charles has the power to grant Harry the security clearance he so urgently seeks; as the reigning monarch, he holds the final say in such matters.

This could pave the way for a reconciliation between father and son.” Harry has consistently stated that he will not bring his wife and children to the UK unless he is granted official police protection.

After stepping back from royal duties and relocating to America, he and Markle lost their taxpayer-funded security detail.

In response, a palace source clarified, “The decision regarding security is made solely by a committee known as RAVEC, which does not include His Majesty, although the royal household is represented.”

Reportedly, King Charles Is Not Returning Calls

In July, People magazine revealed that Harry has tried reaching out to Charles, but his attempts have gone unanswered. It’s evident that Harry is not looking to create further rifts within his family.

He also plans to refrain from adding any new content to the paperback edition of his explosive memoir, “Spare,” set to be released this fall. As he approaches his 40th birthday, insiders suggest that Harry has found a greater sense of comfort in California and in his current lifestyle.

A friend noted, “He holds strong to his beliefs and is resolute, yet he seems to carry less weight on his shoulders than he did before.”

No More Books Planned

Back in 2021, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made headlines when they inked a three-book deal with Random House, reportedly worth around $20 million.

Initially, it was revealed that this agreement encompassed Harry’s memoir, a collaborative book by Harry and Markle, and a separate work from Markle. However, recent updates indicate that there are no further book projects in the pipeline.

Currently, the Sussexes are focusing their efforts on their Archewell Foundation and recently embarked on a staged royal tour in Columbia, aimed at promoting mental health awareness among young people.

Regarding the debut of Markle’s lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, insiders indicate that its future remains uncertain; “That’s an entirely different matter,” remarked a source close to the Sussexes.

British Royal Family News – All In All, The Sussexes Seem Happy In California

Although her lifestyle show on Netflix is set to premiere next year, the couple’s agreement with the streaming service is scheduled to conclude in 2025.

In the meantime, Harry’s new chief of staff, Josh Kettle, has departed from his position after only three months, just prior to their trip to Colombia.

A friend of the Sussexes in California remarked, “They are content and relishing their lives; you could see that during their visit to Colombia.” However, a longtime acquaintance shared that while Harry appears to have an “enviable lifestyle,” they find it hard to believe this luxurious exile in California is truly where he envisioned himself.
