Prince Harry Calls Survival In the Royal Family “A Dirty Game”

If you thought the first teaser for Netflix’s “Harry and Meghan” packed a punch, then you need to take a sit for this next one. Apart from the new “truth bombs” dropped in this new teaser, it also officially announced that the first of the two part series will be dropping this Thursday, December 8. The second one will be dropping on December 15, the day Princess Catherine will host her second Christmas carol service.

Prince Harry Calls Out “Hierarchy” In the Royal Family

The recent teaser did not focus on Meghan and Harry’s love story like the first one did, but on the reason they had to leave the Royal Family. Teaser one Meghan asked fans: “When the stakes are this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?”

This time around, the story they’ve decided to tell us is one that will reasonably sting the Royal Family. “There’s a hierarchy in the family. You know, there’s leaking, but there’s also planting of stories,” Harry starts off the teaser, which is ridden with flashes from dozens of photographers.

We see Diana struggling to get through dozens of photographers and we barely see Princess Catherine walking away from intrusive paparazzi. There are also shots of photographers that aren’t targeting any member of the Royal Family, and it begs the question on how “authentic” Harry and Meghan’s story will actually be?

We then hear Harry confirm that “it’s a dirty game”, adding, “the pain and suffering from women marrying into this institution, this feeding frenzy…I was terrified, I didn’t want history to repeat itself.”

Netflix Calls “Harry and Meghan” Docuseries An Unprecedented Love Story

Ahead of the official premiere of the docuseries, Netflix released a statement: “In an unprecedented and in-depth documentary series, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex share the other side of their high-profile love story. Across six episodes, the series explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution.”

The statement also revealed that “friends and family, most of whom have never spoken publicly before about what they witnessed,” will discuss “the state of the British Commonwealth today and the royal family’s relationship with the press, the series does more than illuminate one couple’s love story, it paints a picture of our world and how we treat each other.”

The statement concluded: “From the critically-acclaimed, two-time Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning director Liz Garbus, Harry & Meghan is a never-before-seen look at one of the most-discussed couples in history.”
