Prince Harry Desperate To Make Changes To Memoir Before It Hits the Shelf

Oh, Prince Harry is caught between a rock and a hard place. Yes, it’s about his memoir again, and at this point, we don’t know whether it’s coming this year or not. Apart from the book’s announcement last year, nothing new has been shared about it, not even its name or release date.

Prince Harry Reportedly Made $20 Million From The Publication Deal With Penguin Random House

“Explosive”, “truth bombs”, “controversial”, and many others like it are the words usually associated with Prince Harry’s upcoming memoir. Critics have guessed the contents (many predict a lot of Queen Camilla bashing), name (Harry: Fear And Loathing In Kensington Palace via royal expert Celia Walden) and even publication date (reportedly, it’s still on track for a release by the end of this year). However anyone would like to predict the ins and outs of the book which Harry worked on with a ghostwriter, no one can say they have access to Harry’s mind.

Does he want to heal his relationship with his family, does he not? I don’t think even Harry is sure of the answer to that question.

One thing’s for sure, Harry cannot, in any way, cancel this deal. He’d have to refund over $20 million he’d already received from the company, and that would, what, set him back a whooping $20 million? However, there are rumors he’s working on it once again to clean out parts he thinks are “insensitive”. The last minute changes, which he is reportedly scrambling to make, is said to be related to how closely it would coincide with his grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s death. What a thoughtful boy: he can bash his family whilst she’s alive but can’t seem to do it when they’re grieving? Harry deserves some points for his brutal kindness.

But, according to sources, the publishers said it’s too late to make any other changes as it’s already been signed off. It’s expected to hit our shelves by the end of this year.

Prince Harry Was Told To Improve The First Draft To Make The Memoir More Dramatic And Controversial

Okay, let me get this straight, Prince Harry received a mouth-watering deal and thought he wouldn’t have to deliver?

A source told The Sun on Sunday: “The publishers paid $20 million up front because they knew whatever was written would be huge for sales and exposure all around the world.

“But the first draft they received was disappointing as it was a bit too emotional and focused far more on mental health issues than they wanted.

“Eventually, the final draft has been finished and signed off and a lot of money and energy has been spent to make sure it comes out this year.

“But Harry has thrown a spanner in the works as he is desperate to get it refined in the light of the Queen’s death, her funeral and his father Charles taking the throne.”

The source continued by explaining that Harry believes that some things in the book would not be appropriate to be released into the world so soon after the Queen’s death.

“He wants sections changed. It’s not a total rewrite by any means. He desperately wants to make changes. But it might be too late.”
