Prince Harry Faces Growing Calls to Lose His Royal Title After Latest Controversy

Prince Harry has found himself facing new calls for him to be stripped of his royal titles, officially removed as a counselor of state and even be stricken from the line of succession.

All this is coming after the Prince fantastically lost his case against the publishers of the Daily Mail, accused the judge of whitewashing his verdict, and was exposed by Charlotte Griffiths for his wild nature during his younger years.

On Paper, Prince Harry still technically retains His Counselor of State role. However, the Royal Family operates under the strict rule that only working royals can be deputized to serve in place of the monarch.

This means that Harry’s role, while technically retained, was rendered useless when he decided to step down as a senior working royal.

Despite this, experts are calling for him to be entirely removed as a counselor of state, both on paper and in law. Writing on why this should be, a royal expert argued for The Times,

“In the face of his seemingly strong desire publicly to confront, oppose and malign the institutions of the British state, and their decisions, his constitutional role within the UK should not continue.”

The expert explained, “He remains, by law, a counsellor of state. Although he is prevented at present from performing that role owing to not being a working royal or living in the UK, further legislation should be considered to remove the title entirely.”

Touching on the late Queen’s decision to deny Harry a half-in half-out role within the Monarchy, they continued,

“As the late Queen made clear when she gave her blessing for her grandson and his wife to depart royal life, no halfway role is possible. While Prince Harry may often seem confused about that, Britain should not be.”

Veteran royal biographer Tom Bower also called out Prince Harry for what he described as a “churlish” reaction to his court loss against the ANL.

He said: “His churlish reaction said it all. By accusing the judge, a man of impeccable standing, and, I must remind you, the King’s judge in the King’s court, of engineering a whitewash, when in fact Harry lost because he couldn’t provide any evidence.”
