Prince Harry Faces Tougher Challenge Than Meghan Markle Amid Emmy Awards Snub!

A new report reveals that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hoped for an Emmy Award nomination. But voters ignored the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix documentary series. And in the wake of the Emmy snub, Harry faces a bigger challenge than Meghan.

Emmy Awards Snub Meghan Markle And Prince Harry

2023 hasn’t been kind to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. For instance, Spotify canceled the couple. And Twitter regularly trends tags such as “Dumb Prince And His Stupid Wife.”

But through it all, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex hoped to score an Emmy Award for their Netflix documentary series. However, Emmy voters failed to fulfill their dreams. And they skipped Meghan and Harry’s show in the “Outstanding Documentary Or Nonfiction Series” category, noted Newsweek.

And getting snubbed comes as a “large and terribly disappointing blow for the couple. Particularly in light of the criticism they have faced in recent weeks over their media deals,” pointed out entertainment expert and founder of MarkMeets, Mark Boardman. As a result, Boardman feels that Harry and Meghan need “to focus on the broader impact of their work.” And that means letting go of dreams for “awards recognition.”

But scoring an Emmy Award nod would have boosted public perception. Because the Emmy voters ignored them, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “need to redefine who they are individually, and as a couple,” added the entertainment expert. And he feels that the two must do better in winning over the public. However, Boardmen believes that Harry faces the bigger challenge. 

Because Meghan achieved an acting career prior to becoming a royal family member, Harry needs to work on his own image. And Boardman believes that the Duke of Sussex should look at life before Markle for some clues. By repairing the royal family links that Harry broke, he could rebuild his followers.

Prince Harry Needs To Get ‘Royal’

But Boardman believes Harry needs to work harder than Meghan for success at this point in their lives. Because Markle enjoyed “a career in TV and film, Harry must become a royal again,” claims the entertainment expert. And he believes that will help expand his fading “fan base and generate positive media attention.”

But the two also need to prove that they can deliver compelling content after Spotify’s cancellation. And it didn’t help when a Spotify exec labeled Meghan and Harry “f****** grifters.” That led to rumors that Netflix would follow Spotify in ending ties with the couple. But thus far, the Duchess and Duke of Sussex have held onto that contract. And amid their disappointment over the Emmy snub, Meghan and Harry can take time to learn.

“Harry and Meghan must use this moment as an opportunity for reflection and growth,” advised Boardman. And he suggested they start to change “their strategies.” By regrouping, the couple can learn to create “compelling content.” And the entertainment expert urged the Duke and Duchess to “refocus, redefine their goals, and continue their journey as content creators.”
