Prince Harry sometimes seems to be his own worst enemy and people shall not soon forget that he was booed by the audience on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. After all, he is a guest in the USA, and he made remarks about the sitting president.

From A Journalist’s Perspective

On Monday, Daily News Headlines vlogger, Neil Sean, talked about the problems with Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle. In his opinion, the way they treat the media seems to lie at the bottom of many of their issues in life.

To clarify what he meant by that, the royal expert talked about a personal story of the actress, Sienna Miller. He remembered interviewing Miller years ago, and he characterized her as a “very pretty girl, not a bad actress, but had a huge chip on her shoulder.”

He went on to describe her as someone who made much of her relationship with Jude Law and often gave paparazzi photo opportunities. But then, he opined, she’d cry about notoriety while protesting about the media invading her privacy. Sean added, “You see how this works. This is the same with Megan and Harry.”

The Colbert Show Mistakes

Sean then stepped into his main assessment by talking about Prince Harry on Stephen Colbert’s show. After dissing the show, he lasered in on the moment when Harry joked about the U.S. President.

Sean thought that this was his biggest mistake. “You couldn’t be that dumb, could you?” he asked rhetorically. Then, he reminded his viewers that Prince Harry is a guest stateside. So, it would be good if he showed some manners.

Of course, the reaction of the audience to the live event wasn’t favorable. It’s a known fact that the audience booed him for it. And, Sean described Harry’s reaction as “visibly shocked.”

Unfortunately for Harry, Sean told his followers, the off-camera editing couldn’t rescue the segment. After all, “CBS dare not tamper with anything” after they were informed about a lawsuit. Therefore, the broadcast kept the negative reaction and now its doing the rounds everywhere on social media.

Too Late To Rue The Day

Well, not being protected by the media seemed a bit of a shocker, and Neil Sean opined that Harry only realized his mistake much later. “Only then does the light bulb go on in Prince Harry’s mind,” he commented.

Finally, the royal expert linked all of that to a broader argument. Certainly, he seems to feel that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex seem to cause a lot of problems for themselves. In his opinion, Harry and Meghan “live and breathe wanting to be in the paper,” yet are constantly blaming the media for their problems.

Viewers React

In the comments section, folks from both sides of the big pond chimed in with their reactions. One of them opined, “You summed it up perfectly at the end, Neil. He shouldn’t have insulted the President of a country that he is simply a guest in.”

Here are a few more responses from the discussion:

  • He’s truly shameful and deeply offensive.
  • Why is this not so bright prince commenting on US politics while residing in California and still holding British titles????? Does Harry even pay US taxes???
  • Harry must have been furious when Trump said that William is a son that anybody would be proud of.
  • He thinks he can be rude to anyone in any country even leaders. Who does he think he is[?]
