Prince Harry Kicked And Screamed Before Allowing Access To His Emails In Lawsuit Against The SunBritish royal family news divulges that Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex was not cooperative with the legal team of the publisher of The Sun, who he is suing.

Harry was so recalcitrant that he had to be hauled off “kicking and screaming” before he allowed access to his emails as potential evidence in the legal case.

According to MSN, the High Court was told that Harry was guilty of “obfuscation” and making News Group Newspapers (NGN) jump through hoops in order to discover material for in the duke’s case of unlawful information gathering.

Furthermore, on Thursday the publisher’s lawyer said they were “extremely concerned” about Harry’s alleged email deletions between himself and his memoir ghost writer, J.R. Moehringer. The concern is that Harry purposely deleted information that would be relevant to the case.

Allegedly, Harry’s Signal conversations with Moehringer were “wiped” before the publication of Spare: “It therefore appears that a substantial source of relevant documents in the claimant’s control has been deleted during the currency of these proceedings.”

In contrast, Harry’s legal team told the judge that NGN wrongly characterized his conduct in regard to disclosing material. They accused the publisher of going on a “classic fishing expedition” for potential information that was “entirely unnecessary and disproportionate.”

Harry is one of several individuals litigating against the publisher, accusing them of targeting the claimants via journalists and private investigators. The publisher has denied unlawful activity took place at The Sun.

At Thursday’s hearing in London, NGN’s lawyers asked the judge “to order Harry’s current solicitors to carry out searches of Harry’s texts, Whatsapp and Signal messages, laptop and hard drives.”

The publisher also requests that Harry’s legal team write to his former lawyers at Harbottle & Lewis, as well as Sir Clive Alderton, private secretary to the King and Sir Michael Stevens, the keeper of the privy purse, to request documents concerning the duke.

In other words, NGN wants Harry to hand over information that “could relate to when he knew he could bring a potential case against the publisher and whether the filing of his claim in September 2019 was made within a legal time limit.”

The judge in the case, Justice Fancourt was told that nearly 12,000 of Harry’s emails from his now-closed ha@sjpkp.com email account were being reviewed for potential disclosure. But the access was not easily obtained, with the NGN lawyer saying “We’ve had to drag those out of the claimant kicking and screaming. He doesn’t want to have to do this for whatever reason.”
