Reports are coming out that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently facing a financial crisis so big that their Montecito mansion may soon be up for sale as they try to find their financial footing.
It’s also speculated that their Portugal home may end up on the chopping block, even if Montecito is spared. Here’s what we know about the situation.
Expert Guesses Where Prince Harry Might Find the Money To Settle ANL Following His Loss Against the Publisher
Prince Harry and his fellow claimants have lost their case against the publishers of the Daily Mail, and now there’s millions to pay.
How will Harry get the money to pay up his share of the damages? Sky News host Danica De Giorgio thinks the Duke might be forced to sell off some property to cover the costs.
“Could the Montecito mansion soon have a for sale sign in front of it? Harry and Meghan are facing a devastatingly large legal bill after the Duke lost his legal case against the Daily Mail,” De Giorgio speculated.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Reportedly Considering Selling Their Portuguese Home
Outside of their Montecito property, Harry and Meghan also put some money towards purchasing a property in Portugal. However, they may have to say goodbye to their secret vacation home following their recent financial woes.
“Everything’s under the microscope financially right now and their Portuguese place is one of their biggest expenses after Montecito, if not the biggest,” the soirce said.
“Even though it’s a newer property, there are still plenty of costs beyond the millions they spent to buy it. The annual club fees alone are eye-watering, then you’ve got insurance, taxes, maintenance, and all the other day-to-day costs of keeping a holiday home running, so it’s become a massive luxury at a time when there’s less money coming in and plenty going out.”
However, according to the source, Harry and Meghan are reportedly planning to exhaust every other option they have before putting the vacation home on the chopping block.
“If things don’t improve financially, it’s definitely one of the assets that will very likely end up on the chopping block, as painful as that would be,” the source revealed.
I’m guessing one of these options may come up when Harry returns to the UK and has his Buckingham Palace stay later this year.
