Prince Harry Missed His Friend’s Wedding For This Important Reason

Prince Harry may have landed in the UK over the weekend for his April 8 hearing, but he did not do that for any kind of social call, despite one of his pals tying the knot that same weekend. And yes, he did get an invitation, but per the friend, he’s got a lot going on.

Prince Harry Source Reveals Reason Duke Couldn’t Make It To Friend’s Wedding

Lord Vivian was one of the close pals that attended Harry’s wedding to American actress Meghan Markle in 2018. It would make sense that Harry should attend his, but Lord Vivian’s wedding to Saweda Kamara at Chelsea Old Town Hall in London on Saturday, April 5 was Harry-free.

This happened even though Harry returned to the UK this weekend. The reason Harry couldn’t return the favor and be there for his pal’s important day was said to rest on the one thing that dragged him back to the UK in the first place: security.

Due to his security arrangements, a Prince Harry source claimed that it’s harder for the 40-year-old to navigate around the country, let alone attend events.

Harry returned for a court hearing that will discuss his security arrangements, and determine whether RAVEC was right in their decision to downgrade it.

Lord Vivian, who confirmed that Harry was invited to his nuptials to Daily Mail’s Richard Eden, opened up about Harry’s absence, saying, “I don’t know. He has a lot on.”

Lord Vivian, 58, was pictured among a group shot that Harry lovingly tagged “my band of brothers” for his Netflix series, ‘Harry and Meghan.’

This is not the first time that Harry has had to forego attending a close friend’s wedding, as he missed out on the society wedding of the year in 2024 when he skipped the nuptials of Hugh Grosvenor.

Grosvenor is godfather to Archie, and at the time, Harry and Meghan’s absence was chalked down to “an understanding between the two friends.”

On the other hand, Prince William played a formal role at the wedding. He served as an usher at the event which took place at Chester Cathedral.
