Whichever way, the judge’s latest ruling could possibly blow the whole scheme out of the water.
Prince Harry To Provide Documents That Could Show Whether Any of His Witnesses Have “Skin in the Game”
Let’s just say that Associated Newspapers, the publishers of Daily Mail, are not going to be slain easy.
The Duke and several other claimants are currently suing the newspaper for illegal gathering of information, which includes but are not limited to hiring private investigators to place listening devices inside cars, “blagging” private records, burglaries to order and accessing and recording private phone conversations.
Joining Harry, 40, on his mission are other high profile figures, including Baroness Lawrence, Elizabeth Hurley, Sir Elton John, Sadie Frost and Sir Simon Hughes.
In addition to denying the allegations brought on by these celebrities, The Daily Mail has instead chosen to claim that incentives were “offered or paid” by researchers working for the claimants’ legal team. They further cited a £5,000-a-month deal made with a private investigator called Gavin Burrows.

In light of this, Justice Nicklin handed down a ruling on Friday, where he criticized the “inconsistent and incoherent approach” the claimants have used to provide their evidence, waving off their explanations as “unconvincing.”
He then proceeded to rule that the group should search for and hand over any documents that suggest that Mr Burrows, or any other potential witness, “has skin in the game.”
He instructed the claimants to provide documents that would answer the “serious questions” about the nature of their research team.
Justice Nicklin’s latest ruling comes after a two-day case management hearing in May, during which Antony White KC, speaking on behalf of Associated Newspapers, asked the court to induce the claimants to “search for and disclose any documents that relate to payments, royalties or inducements paid, provided or offered, or any demands or threats made, in order to obtain documents, information or other co-operation.”
The trial is set to take place in January 2026.
