Prince Harry Sadly Reveals He Hasn’t Got Many Happy Memories Of His Mother To Share

Prince Harry Sadly Reveals He Hasn't Got Many Happy Memories Of His Mother To SharePrincess Diana’s tragic death in 1997 made ripples around the world, with hundreds of thousands mourning her untimely death. 25 years later, people’s love for Diana is still going strong and the media’s obsession with her life is yet to fade entirely.

When Harry was still a working royal and before he had a falling out with his family, he talked about wanting to wear a crown to look more princely to Americans and how his mother’s sudden death impacted him.

Prince Harry Admits To Not Knowing What His Mother Would Or Wouldn’t Approve Of

In 2016, Prince Harry talked to PEOPLE about the pain of his mother’s early departure and how it continues to define his life. Harry, now 37, was just 12 years old when his mother passed away.

Talking about how his first-hand recollections of his mother continue to fade with time, he said: “I don’t have that many memories of my childhood with my mum. I don’t say, ‘Right, I’m going to get involved in that because that’s what my mum would want me to do’, although inevitably once I’m doing it I think, ‘Do you know what? She’d probably love this.'”

He then poignantly added: “All I want to do is make my mother incredibly proud. That’s all I’ve ever wanted to do.

“When she died, there was a gaping hole, not just for us but also for a huge amount of people across the world. If I can try and fill a very small part of that, then job done. I will have to, in a good way, spend the rest of my life trying to fill that void as much as possible. And so will William.”

In recent times, Prince Harry has revealed that his late mother is helping him navigate the hard parts of life, especially after he became a husband and a father.

He also said that he sees Diana’s great legacy in his children.

Prince Harry – On Being A Prince Without A Crown In America

When Harry visited Orlando, Florida, for the Invictus Games, he talked about his desire to revisit Disney World, which he went to as a child with his mother and older brother. He revealed that he went on Space Mountain so many times that “my policeman had to get off and vomit over a bench!”

He added: “Every time I get to meet kids and they have been told a real-life prince is coming, the disappointment on their faces when they see me without a crown or without a cape…you can tell in the UK and across the world that they are genuinely disappointed, because they live in this fairy-tale land! So I am going to pack a crown and a cape this time and some funny pointy-toed shoes.

“I’m worried because the American kids, especially next to Disney World, are going to be thinking ‘You ain’t no prince, you’re not dressed like a prince. You’re having a laugh!’,” he added. “The pressure is on. I’m going to sign the crown out!”
