Harry, according to the Palace, had initially rejected the invitation to stay over at the popular royal residence on Saturday. However, he later called to announce that he would be accepting the offer for a solo one-night stay.

By then, per Buckingham Palace, the time had already passed to properly inform staff, and make arrangements to receive him.
