The Duke of Sussex has been dealing with “trauma, loss, and grief,” especially after the death of his mother, Princess Diana. He also opened up about his experiences joining the army and the time when he stepped down as senior royal after marrying Meghan Markle.

In the latest campaign for mental health start-up BetterUp, the father-of-two got to chat with the Olympic snowboarder, Chloe Kim, and discussed their mental health practices. “We all have greatness within us. Mental fitness helps us unlock it. It’s an ongoing practice, one where you approach your mind as something to flex, not fix,” Prince Harry said.

As for Kim, being mentally good is essential for her as an athlete as it would help her to perform well and not to doubt herself. “For the past couple of years, I’ve just been prioritizing that, listening to my body, and I’m in such a better place now,” she uttered.

Princess Diana’s Legacy

As he continued delivering his uplifting words, he thanked the young awardees for always keeping his mother’s legacy at heart. “My mother knew that young people have the power to accomplish anything and can act beyond their years as the leader we so desperately need right now,” the father-of-two said.

“I know the memory I hold of my mom will never fade because I see her spirit in each of you, so thank you for keeping her fire alive,” Prince Harry continued.
