Prince Harry To Join Queen Elizabeth For Special Meeting With Donald Trump During UK Visit

It looks like President Donald Trump will be getting the royal treatment while in the U.K. after all. There are new reports that suggest Prince Harry will be on hand to visit the President of the United States during his highly-anticipated meeting with Queen Elizabeth in the coming weeks. Here’s what you need to know.

Prince Harry Will Join Grandmother During A Special Lunch

According to CNN, Prince Harry will join his royal grandmother during a special lunch with President Donald Trump which is expected to be held in Buckingham Palace on June 3rd.

The last time that Prince Harry was present during a state visit was when the Spanish monarchs visited London last year. Typically, Harry isn’t involved during such visits but apparently the Sussexes are wanting to be more involved in these functions.

Prince Harry’s Conversations With Trump Should Be Intersting

And while it looks like Prince Harry will have a very interesting conversation with Donald Trump, it appears as though his wife Meghan Markle will sit this one out. That’s not because the Duchess of Sussex isn’t a fan of the President, but instead it’s because she will be too busy tending to her son Archie Harrison at home.

Meghan is currently on her maternity leave and is not expected to resume her royal engagements or public duties until after the summer.

Meghan Markle Will Miss Meeting Due To Maternity Leave

While a lot of critics think it’s quite odd that an American-born princess is not meeting with an American President while he is in London, others aren’t surprised. After all, Meghan made it quite clear that she’s not a fan of Donald Trump way before she even met Prince Harry.

Today The Duke of Sussex played in the ninth annual @Sentebale ISPS Handa Polo Cup, held for the first time in Rome, Italy, to raise funds and awareness for Sentebale’s work supporting children and young people affected by HIV in southern Africa. Co- founded by The Duke of Sussex in 2006 with Prince Seeiso, @Sentabale has worked for over a decade in Lesotho, Botswana and Malawi to address the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people affected by HIV, providing them with the tools, peer networks, and education to lead healthy and productive lives. Eastern and southern Africa remain the regions most affected by the HIV epidemic – accounting for 45% of the world’s HIV infections. Lesotho and Botswana have the second and third highest infection rate of HIV in the world – with children often too afraid to access the life-saving treatment and care available, because there is still too much associated stigma. Sentebale’s core programme supporting children living with HIV reaches over 4,600 children and young people each month who are coming to terms with living with HIV through monthly Saturday clubs at local healthcare facilities, and 1,700 youth through residential week-long camps in Lesotho and Botswana. Last year alone, Sentebale’s youth volunteers aged between 18 and 24 delivered sexual and reproductive health education, including topics on HIV prevention in schools and communities to over 100,000 of their peers in Lesotho. Support from today’s match will help @Sentebale to expand these essential and life-transforming initiatives. While a lot of royal observers doubt that Meghan would be willing and eager to meet with Donald Trump during such an occasion, others think that her maternity leave is a great excuse to stay home and sit this meeting out. Either way, it will be very interesting to see what Harry will have to say during his one-on-one time with the most powerful man in the world.

Everyone will definitely be on the lookout for their first photo op together! So far Buckingham Palace has not released any additional details about the meeting.
