Prince Harry Wanted Everyone’s Hands Off Meghan Markle

Perhaps this wasn’t the best strategy to take. There’s a new report that says earlier on in their relationship Prince Harry told the world to keep their hands off of Meghan Markle.

And that kind of aggressive attitude might not have worked out very well for the Duke of Sussex after all. That’s because the world certainly did turn against him.

There’s a new report that says while he was announcing his engagement to Meghan Markle back in 2017, the Duke of Sussex looked like he was in defensive mode for the cameras. Or at least, that’s what Kinsey Schofield said during her most recent podcast.

While Prince Harry usually looks very comfortable in front of the cameras, while he was announcing his engagement to the Hollywood actress, he looked anything but chill.

At the time, no one knew what would lay ahead for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and how the next several years would not only define their relationship, but also how things would change for them and their relationship with the royal family as well.

Schofield put it this way, “It’s like he’s making that physical connection. He’s presenting her to the world for the first time, because he’d kept her in secret.”

“I still think one of his greatest mistakes was never introducing her to us, the press, and allowing that connection to be forged.”

And while Prince Harry simply wanted to protect Meghan Markle and not have history repeat itself like it did with his mother Princess Diana, some people think that he might have gone a little too far in the defensiveness.

“Yes, there’s a protectiveness and also a defensiveness about it. It’s like, ‘She’s mine. I’m presenting you to her, but hands off.’”

As many royal fans can recall, the couple ended up getting married in May 2018. But by January 2020, they pulled the plug on their working relationship with the royal family and left for California.

So far the Duke of Sussex himself has not made any comments about the matter just yet.
