Prince Harry Wants Fortnite Banned In The U.K.

Prince Harry wants a popular online video game banned in the U.K. Harry said that Fortnite, which is a survival game where 100 plays fight against each other, should be banned because of its addictive nature. The young royal made his comments while talking about mental health awareness during a visit to a YMCA in west London.

Prince Harry has been campaigning to help erase the stigma surrounding mental health as part of his Heads Together initiative. Harry believes that online games such as Fortnite is one of the reasons why young kids and teens are spending more time in front of their screens and not with their families.

According to Royal Central, Harry said, “That game shouldn’t be allowed. Where is the benefit of having it in your household? It’s created to addict, an addiction to keep you in front of a computer for as long as possible.

What’s more, Harry also said that social media is just as addictive because of how normalized it’s become and how there are no restrictions to it. He even compared it to the use of alcohol and drugs. The young royal made his comments the same week that he and his wife Meghan Markle announced their very own Instagram account, Sussex Royal.

Even though Prince Harry is trying to encourage people to spend more time off of social media, he and Meghan want people to follow them as they update their fans on their day-to-day royal engagements and public appearances.

The Sussex royal account has already shared four posts in less than three days. The account also has almost 4 million followers and counting. Harry and Meghan broke a record by reaching one million followers in less than six hours after making their Instagram debut.
