Prince Harry’s Lawyers Seek $2.5 Million in Legal Fees After Leading Him To Victory Against Mirror

Work hard and get paid hard is the motto Harry’s legal team abides by. After proving that The Mirror publishers used illegal means to obtain notable revelations of the Duke’s life, Harry’s legal team are now asking for $2.5 million, and they’re looking to MGN to pay up.

Prince Harry Wants MGN To Pay Him More Than the Court Has Awarded Him So Far

After Harry and his team were able to prove that unlawful information gathering was used to write 15 out of 33 select articles, he was awarded $178,000 in damages.

However, this award was only a fraction of the payment he sought, especially since the case is only a quarter finished. To resolve things faster without Harry having to throw more of his own money into legal fees, he has agreed to settle out of court.

His attorney, David Sherborne, recently revealed that if The Mirror publishers meet his demands, he’d be moving on. If not, Harry was said to be ready to get back into the witness box.

“Although the Duke is certainly prepared to attempt to resolve the remainder of his claim through agreement, it is necessary to list of the trial of the remainder of his claim as soon as is practicable, in order that his claim, which was issued almost four-and-a-half years ago in September 2019, may be fully determined if agreement is not reached,” he said.

The Monday hearing was over a trial that involved Harry as one of four claimants, including two members of Britain’s longest-running TV soap opera, “Coronation Street,” who claimed Mirror hired hackers and private investigators to gather interesting information regarding their private lives.

While the judge ruled that the privacy of all four claimants had been violated, he did toss out Nikki Sanderson and Fiona Wightman, the former wife of comedian Paul Whitehouse, because they were filed too late. He awarded actor Michael Turner $39,000.

Whereas Harry’s attorney Sherborne insists MGN should be made to reimburse his clients legal fees because they knowingly “advanced a fundamentally dishonest case,” Mirror Group’s attorney Roger Mallalieu believes the publisher should only have to pay legal fees for the portions of the claims it lost.
