Prince Harry’s Made Peace With His Father, Now He Wants Meghan Markle To Do the Same

This year has seen Prince Harry set aside any and all differences to make peace with his father, who was diagnosed with cancer in early 2024.

During his May BBC interview, he admitted that one of the reasons he’s seeking peace was because of time. In short, no one knew how much time anyone has left, and instead of spending it bickering over the past, wouldn’t it be best to leave it behind? Wise thoughts, and now we’re hearing that Harry is passing on this wisdom to Meghan Markle.

Prince Harry Doesn’t Want Meghan Markle To Delay Reconciling with Her Estranged Father Anymore

According to a Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop source, Prince Harry is doing everything possible to convince wife Meghan to bury the hatchet.

“Harry knows estrangement. He made peace with his dad; now he wants Meghan to have the same chance. He’s been saying, ‘Don’t wait, do it now.'”

Apparently Harry’s encouragement is “soft, compassionate, and very much a ‘lead by example’ moment, with another insider noting, “He’s showing Meghan what reconciliation looks like. And he hopes she takes it.”

Shortly after this report surfaced, the world learned that Meghan’s father Thomas Markle Sr. has been hospitalized and was receiving emergency care. Fresh reports revealed that his leg was amputated to save his life.

Since this was coming shortly after Meghan’s Netflix Christmas special aired, many were soon calling on the former actress to abide by her preachings and contact her father in his time of need.

“My only wish is that Meghan shows my father some compassion. He is literally fighting for his life,” Thomas Markle Jr. said, as per The Daily Mail.

However, for those who aren’t exactly sure where all the bad blood between father and child came from in the first place, let’s rewind to the staged paparazzi photos and its accompanying fallout in the lead up to Meghan’s 2018 wedding.

“I said, ‘I just need you to tell me and if you tell me the truth, we can help,’ and he wasn’t able to do that,” she told Oprah. “That, for me, has really resonated, especially now as a mother… I look at Archie, I think about this child [on the way], and I genuinely can’t imagine doing anything to intentionally cause pain to my child. I can’t imagine it. So it’s hard for me to reconcile that.”
