As we all know, Harry’s upcoming memoir has no working title or a specific release date. Since it was first announced last year until now – apart from the news that the memoir faced minor delays – all we’ve gotten is that it will surely arrive before the end of this year. Okay.
Prince Harry’s Release Strategy Reportedly Wants To Dazzle Fans
Prince Harry, in a rare move for a member of the Royal Family, will be putting ink to paper and detailing the highs and lows of his childhood, the pain of his mother’s death, and (possibly) the inside account of Charles and Camilla’s “unfaithful” relationship.
Since Diana first described her husband’s infidelities, many have wished they could be a fly on the wall when the events took place. Well, no more, as Harry’s memoir is sure to disclose some tasteful drama that’s sure to satisfy.
On the other hand, royal commentator Celia Walden believes interest in the book won’t be as high as a result of different royal biographies being newly released.
Writing for The Telegraph, Celia Walden wrote: “Try to find Prince Harry’s next memoir on Amazon and all royal books except his own. These biographies are all “explosive”, needless to say, and filled with “royal bombs” about the staged Duke. Either that or “intimate”, “real”, “inner” stories. Yet the most “intimate”, “inside” story that could exist – the one slated for release by Penguin Random House in “late 2022” – isn’t in there at all. Not even with a blank cover, not with a working title or a disclaimer that “release date not yet known”.
“It’s a strategy, of course. You don’t spend $20 million on a book about “one of the most fascinating and influential global figures of our time” (in Penguin’s words) without implementing a shrewd preprint campaign strategy. And, although the publication of By Royal Disappointment (one of my working titles) has been delayed, according to publishing insiders, “the manuscript has [now] finished and gone through all the legal processes”.
“Which means Penguin is opting for a “shock” game plan that, like a final firework display in a clear night sky, will involve tantalizing radio silence…followed by a bombardment of Hazza reveals so jaw-dropping consumers will be dazzled. by spending £16.99 on Yet Another Royal Opus (what’s the title?).”
“There is a problem with this strategy, highlighted by a report published this weekend in this article on the series of “insider stories” hastily published between now and the publication of Harry: Fear And Loathing In Kensington Palace (perhaps my favorite fantasy title, with I Feel Bad About My Royalty, derived from Nora Ephron, right behind it.)”
“No One Will Care” About the Duke Of Sussex’s “Honest” Memoir
Leading the way on the list of new royal titles is Tom Bower’s bestselling book, “Revenge”, which was released late last month. Following Bower’s brilliant work is bestselling writer Catherine Mayer, who will publish an updated version of her biography of Prince Charles – Charles: The Heart of a King – promising readers “unpublished details” around “the exit of Harry and Meghan”.

Continuing to speak on the list of royal titles currently lined up, Celia Walden wrote: “In September, another esteemed journalist will provide fresh insight into the last period of the Duke’s royal life. Valentine Low told the story that the Duchess of Sussex was accused of intimidating staff while at Kensington Palace in 2018 (Meghan’s team have always strenuously denied the charges) and her sources in Brokers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown are likely to be flawless.
“In November, comes a double whammy from two well-known royal pundits. Katie Nicholl will publish a forensic review of the firm in The New Royals, while Angela Levin will publish a biography of the Duchess of Cornwall. Again, both are expected to include versions of Megxit and, given Levin’s criticism of the Sussexes and rumors that Harry’s autobiography (My Journey to Me-Ville) will contain criticism of his stepmother, his is unlikely to be favorable towards them.”
