Apparently there was a name his family used for the young prince when he was particularly naughty. Keep reading to find out what his late mother Diana, and his father King Charles, called their youngest son when he misbehaved.

Harry, the Duke of Sussex is known as Prince Harry. But Harry is not his legal, given name. He is called Harry by his family, and now the world, but ‘Harry’ is not the name listed on the traitor’s birth certificate.

As is the case in many families, Harry’s relatives used a nickname for him, and it is ‘Harry.’ But in fact his legal name is quite a mouthful: Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales. That is the name Harry was given when he was christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Harry Has A Name Specifically For His Bad Behavior

Although Diana and Charles decided to name their son Henry, they agreed to call him Harry, the name by which he is best known today; that, and Ginger Judas.

About this curious practice, a source told the Daily Mail that Harry’s were “following a very old royal practice” by calling their son by a more casual moniker. They said “He will, of course, be christened Henry, but afterwards he’ll be Harry. There are centuries of tradition involved.”

Be that as it may, there are instances in which Harry has been called Henry, mostly during official announcements. For example, in 2018 the late Queen Elizabeth announced she was giving her permission for “Prince Henry” to marry Rachel Markle, aka Grifter.

But there was another name Prince Charles and Diana called Harry when he was “very, very naughty.” The family’s former police bodyguard Ken Wharfe stated that Diana would admonish her youngest son, “No, Henry!” when he acted up, which was often.

There is precedent in the case of Henry being called Harry. Prince George VI was Britain’s regent during World War II but his legal name was Albert. And, Queen Victoria was christened Princess Alexandrina Victoria of Kent at birth.

Speaking of birthdays, Harry turned 40 on Sunday, September 15 and both Prince William and King Charles wished him well on social media.
