It looks like he was trusting his gut. There’s a new report that suggests even Prince Philip had his doubts about Meghan Markle and even voiced his concerns to Queen Elizabeth when Prince Harry began dating the former Hollywood star. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Royal Family News – Prince Philip Was Suspicious About Meghan Markle
There’s a new report that says Prince Philip knew that Meghan Markle would be trouble for the royal family before she became trouble for the royal family.
At least, that’s how one royal author sees it. Ingrid Seward says in a new interview with GB News that Prince Philip felt like Meghan was just like King Edward IV’s wayward wife, Wallis Simpson.
Apparently, he felt like Meghan was going to do some major damage before she caused any damage.
As many royal fans already know, both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle pulled the plug on their working relationship with the royal family back in 2020, leaving Queen Elizabeth quite dismayed over their decision.
Seward put it this way, “Soon the country as a whole seemed to take to Meghan with equally genuine delight. One of the few wary of succumbing to her charm offensive, however, was Prince Philip. While the Queen continued to champion Harry’s new love, he warned his wife to be cautious.
Queen Elizabeth II was perfectly aware of what Philip meant when he drew parallels between Meghan and Wallis. Indeed, much later, she would remark in her clipped way that perhaps Harry had been ‘too in love’ with the American actress.”
Royal Family News – Did Meghan Markle Give A Bad First Impression?
The royal expert continued, “I think Prince Philip was very canny about people and he didn’t always see the bad in them, he tried to see the good in them. I think he just couldn’t get away from the fact [of the] similarities between Meghan and Harry and Edward and Mrs Simpson.”
So far Buckingham Palace has made no comments about the matter.

Prince Philip is & was a snobby know it all ……..” one doesn’t marry actresses or divorcees…they just have dalliances!!!!”. He had a few in his time….so did Charles…& Camilla has the audacity to talk or look down to & upon M ????? MM is a very bright, intelligent woman with an AMERICAN attitude…she was treated as a 2nd class citizen by the FIRM & Family and she refused to take a BRITISH view as acceptable…why do you think the Americas fought so hard for freedom from the English Sovereign….the BRITS are “not the all that ends all!!!!!!” Others countries under their misguided lead are also seeking their freedom too!
