Prince William and Kate Middleton Are Keeping a Huge Secret From Prince George

Prince George might one day be the future King of England, but for now his parents want him to have a life that is as normal as possible. In fact, there’s a new report that says Prince William and Kate Middleton are keeping a huge secret from George, simply because they want to protect him for as long as they can.

According to Britain’s The Sun, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who also have a daughter, Princess Charlotte, and a 3-month-old son, Prince Louis, want all of their children to have normal upbringings, even though they will be spending half of their time behind closed doors at Kensington Palace.

William and Kate believe that there will be a “time and a place” when they reveal to George that he will one day lead the monarchy. That time, of course, is not right now.

One of the reasons why the Duke and Duchess are keeping things a secret is because William in particular struggled with the magnitude of his future role while he was growing up.

Author Catherine Mayer, who wrote the book Charles: The Heart of a King, recently said, “With George they are trying to delay that moment of realization and give him normality before they thrust this on him. But it will be, nevertheless, part of his upbringing both in terms of what he sees his parents and grandparents doing and probably quite soon a beginning of an understanding that he is in public life and what that means.”

Prince William himself also said that, “There’ll be a time and a place to bring George up and understand how he fits in, in the world. We are very normal.”

And by normal, they mean George and his siblings get to play with their iPads, watch Peppa Pig and eat ice cream at the park just like so many other children their age. While it’s good to be king, it’s also good to be a kid!
