The Prince and Princess of Wales will be getting to work volunteering at Britain’s biggest charities during the “fantastic” Big Help Out that will take place after the King’s coronation on May 6.
Just last week, the royal couple volunteered at Windsor Foodshare and brought media attention to the charity that helps people struggling during the Winter months.
The Britain’s Biggest And Best Charities To Take Part In A Day Of Volunteering As Part Of King Charles the III’s Coronation
Prince William and Princess Kate will spend their coronation weekend volunteering alongside Britain’s best charities as part of King Charles’ coronation.
The “Big Help Out” is said to be Charles’ way of kicking off his reign by bringing the community together, reducing poverty, and improving the living conditions of some of the poorest people in Britain. As the first monarch to be crowned in 70 years, King Charles the III is looking forward to bringing about a lasting legacy.
According to royal insiders, the Waleses fully support the notion and reportedly called it “fantastic”. Prince William and Kate Middleton aren’t the only ones to back the initiative as some of the biggest names, including NSPCC and RSPCA to the Scouts and National Trust, have come forward to support the plan.
Dozens others have also signed on to participate in the day of volunteering set to take place on the Bank Holiday Monday of the Coronation long weekend.
Citizens all over the UK will be encouraged to lend their support, time and resources to maximize the impact of the initiative.
Prominent Figure Bear Grylls Signs On To Support the King’s Coronation Weekend Volunteer Program
Launching the initiative, Chief Scout Bear Grylls said: “Volunteering has always been a huge part of what makes this country great – from families looking after evacuees during the Second World War to neighbours looking out for each other during the pandemic.”
He further explained that “it’s not just in times of crisis that we step up. Volunteering is what powers our communities, from Scout leaders to football coaches, collecting the shopping for an elderly neighbour to helping out at the school fete.”
“The Big Help Out will put volunteering centre stage for a day and give people easy ways to join in.”
He added: “We’re delighted to be a central part of the Coronation weekend, particularly given The King and Queen Consort’s long history of support for volunteering.”
