Prince William and Kate Middleton apparently want to keep their private life as private as possible. In fact, there’s a new report that suggests the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have commissioned to have a 950-feet long hedge erected along the back of their garden at Kensington Palace. This way they can maintain more privacy at home with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
According to Britain’s The Sun, around 600 laurel trees have been planted in the hopes that it will deter tourists from peeking into their home. The three-fight high laurel hedge has been planted at Kensington Palace last week. The trees around about 18 inches apart.
The royal couple feel like they have no choice but to plant a barrier between them and tourists who visit Kensington Palace on a daily basis. One of the reasons why they want to maintain their privacy is because they “no longer want members of the public to see them leaving or arriving.”
Unfortunately for William and Kate, they will have to wait some time before they’ll be able to benefit from the hedge. That’s because it takes up a year for the planted hedges to grow at least two feet. Many royal critics say that the new shrubbery is more of an investment than a fix to any problems they may be having now.
So far Kensington Palace has not made any comments about the report, although this isn’t the first time that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have taken extreme measures to protect their family. They’ve often pleaded with the press to leave Kate and the kids alone whenever they are out and abut in public.

They’ve also spent more time at their home in Norfolk than at Kensington Palace these last few years. Whenever possible, both William and Kate try to keep a very low profile, despite the fact that they are very high-profile people.

Why???? If they want a hedge I say go for it They are loaded. You can’t take it with you.
BTW – it should be TOO extravagant, not TO extravagant.
Given the lunacy of a huge swath of the public, it is understandable that members of the Royal Family feel the way they do. I certainly would! There is no amount of money that would make me want to trade places with any one of them.
