So it is with anticipation that many await his book, which promises to take an unvarnished look at, “the unique and complex relationship at the heart of the royal family’s recent woes,” according to People magazine.
In other words, the book is expected to examine in detail the brothers’ relationship to this point.

People reports that the book will evaluate the last year and a half in the Princes’ lives, a tumultuous period many thinks has resulted in a breakdown of their once-close bond.

The author looks at the impact the royal wives, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, have had on the brothers, relationship, and of course remarks on the move known around the world as Megxit.

Lacey says, “I have been astonished and sometimes moved to tears by the fresh details and insights I have discovered in researching this story of family conflict. It has been both enthralling and painful to trace this drama through the memories of close witnesses and some of the people most intimately involved.”

He adds that while the traditional royal heir and spare have historically had a complicated relationship, every other such relationship has paled in comparison to the problems inherent between William and Harry.

Lacey also claims that the once inseparable siblings have also been irrevocably affected by their parents’ disastrous union.

Harry himself intimated that there was a rift with William when he spoke in the documentary, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.

He can be heard saying onscreen, “Part of this role and part of this job, this family, being under the pressure that it’s under, inevitably stuff happens,” he said at the time. “But look, we’re brothers, we’ll always be brothers. We’re certainly on different paths at the moment but I’ll always be there for him and I know he’ll always be there for me.”
