Prince William And Princess Kate’s New Era—Tropical Vacations and New Patronages

British royal family news divulges that Prince William and Princess Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Wales are in a new era. The last year was “brutal” in William’s words, referring to Kate Middleton and King Charles’ cancer battles.

That year is behind them and while nothing in life is guaranteed, the future looks bright for the royal clan. Here’s what to know about the dawning of a new age in the UK and beyond.

The Brutal Year is Over

According to RadarOnline.com Middleton announced finished chemotherapy in September 2024 and in January 2025 revealed that is cancer free.

While Charles has not issued a similar statement, he has kept up his official duties with his usual gusto, including a trip to Australia over the summer in which he chose to forego chemotherapy during the event.

For Valentine’s Day Prince William and Middleton surprised royal fans with a cozy photo of the future king kissing his wife. What’s the big deal—couples around the world do this millions of times a day?

To celebrate the new year and new beginnings, the Wales family, including kids George, Charlotte and Louis, took a tropical vacation: “Their Caribbean holiday was magical. They did things that they haven’t done together in years, like taking walks on the beach and building sandcastles. Just sitting and relaxing side-by-side was a treat.”

Before this well-deserved break the princess visited the hospital to thank her care team for shepherding her through the scariest time of her life.

At the time she posted on Instagram: “I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to The Royal Marsden for looking after me so well during the past year. My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything. We couldn’t have asked for more.” She has also been made patron of the facility, The Royal Marsden.
