Prince William Can’t Do This Very Well, But His Wife and Kids Excel at the Task!

British royal family news reveals that the Wales family is enjoying a well earned Caribbean vacation on the island of Mustique. Catherine has put her cancer treatment behind her and this week she shared some drawings done by her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

The hand-drawn portraits were shown in support of her “Shaping Us” campaign from her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. The campaign was launched in 2023 and Princess Catherine displayed her kids’ artwork on the official Instagram account of the Prince and Princess of Wales.

It is thought that the portraits are of Kate, with one also done by the proud mom, a pencil sketch of Louis with his eyes shut according to In Style. The pictures are charming but there is one thing wrong according to royal fans. Keep reading to find out what that is!

Does Prince William Draw?

There is one Wales family member who did not contribute a sketch and that is Prince William. The Mirror thinks they know the reason for that.

They note that in a 2020 video call with schoolchildren, William admitted that he was “bad” at drawing but praised Kate’s artistic ability. At the time Kate suggested that William is a good artist but he doesn’t “practice enough!”

The caption on the February 17 Instagram post notes that “Drawing portraits with children can provide a moment of connection as you spend time looking at and focusing on one another, as well as being creative and—most importantly—having lots of fun together!”

Princess Catherine Is Interested in Early Childhood Development

The royal family are now celebrating the kids’ half-term school break in sunny Mustique. Upon their return, Kate will get back to business with her Shaping Us Framework.

The venture investigates ways to promote the skills used in “shaping who we are, how we manage our thoughts and emotions, how we communicate with and relate to others, and how we explore the world around us.”

So, how good of an artist is the princess? Kate enjoys photography as well as art and a 2017 sketch she did of St. Mark’s Church was on the cover of her sister’s wedding program.

Pippa Middleton married James Matthews at the church in May 2017, and it was a family affair all around, with Kate in the wedding as well.
