William has many friends within royal circles and it turns out that one of them is about to become a dad!
The friend is the Duke Westminster, who is expecting his first child with his wife Duchess Olivia. There is no doubt that William has some good advice to dispense on parenting, given that he has three beautiful kids with Princess Catherine.
Prince William’s Friend Has Some Celebrating to Do
This week a spokesperson for the expectant couple announced the good news that Hugh Grosvenor and Olivia are expecting their first child together: “The Duke and Duchess of Westminster are very pleased to share that the Duchess is expecting a baby in the summer. The couple are delighted with the news and are very much looking forward to starting a family together.”
There is a chance that William may even be called upon to serve as one of the baby’s godfathers, since Hugh is a godfather to Prince George, the Prince of Wales’ eldest son. Prince William will succeed his father King Charles as king, and in turn George will succeed William.
William Will One Day Be King
And, according to People magazine, there is a very good chance that William will be given the honorary title of godfather, because according to the outlet, sources spill that William is a natural to be chosen for the honor in regard to Hugh and Olivia’s baby.
Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, has a longstanding association with the royal family. As a matter of fact, King Charles is Hugh’s godfather, and his mother, Natalia, is one of Prince William’s godparents. It’s a small royal world!

It’s fitting that such a close friend of the royal family, and one of William’s besties, tapped him for a major role in Hugh and Olivia’s June 2024 wedding. During the summer ceremony, William served as an usher/groomsman.
