The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge called Anglesey their home for three years after their royal wedding. Anglesey is close to the hearts of the royal couple. Before they left for London, Prince William revealed that he and his wife, Kate, will miss their home.

In an interview at the Anglesey show in 2013, he said, “I know that I speak for Catherine when I say I have never in my life known somewhere as beautiful and as welcoming as Anglesey. I know that both of us will miss it terribly when my search and rescue tour of duty comes to an end next month and we have to move elsewhere. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making my wife and me so welcome when we arrived here.”

Upon their return, they will be meeting with people and groups whose main goal is to help their communities and protect the environment. Among their many scheduled engagements, the royal couple will visit the Caernarfon Coastguard Search and Rescue Helicopter Base, where Prince William served as an RAF search and rescue pilot from 2010 to 2013.

There, Prince William will get to see those whom he had the opportunity to work with at RAF Valley. They will also get a glimpse of the new Sikorsky S92 helicopters and meet the staff of the Wales Air Ambulance. They will also have a discussion about the mental health challenges faced or may be endured by the first responders.
