In 2022, Prince William inherited the Duchy of Cornwall when he became the Prince of Wales. This impressive royal estate consists of 128,494 acres of land across 20 counties, and as the manager of the Duchy, William has reportedly had to develop a “demanding” behavior that sort of makes him “impatient.”
You see, not only does he earn from the Duchy, but there are dozens, if not hundreds, of livelihoods supplied by the estate. Of course the pressure is on him to not only mess it up, but to grow it even beyond what it already is.
Does he have the attitude to do this?
Prince William Has Strong Desire To “Have A Positive Impact In the World”
When it comes to modernizing the Monarchy and maintaining its relevance in the lives of British people, I believe Prince William is the man for the job.
Already, he’s made steps towards achieving his dream of a Great Britain where no one sleeps in the streets because they couldn’t afford a home. It’s almost like he’s setting a new playbook, and his mentality is said to be ”enough talk, let’s get things done.”
In order to bring people a behind-the-scenes look on how the Duchy is being managed and operated, The Telegraph followed the Prince on one of his visits to the estate.
There, they met secretary Will Bax, who cried the Prince’s praises, saying, “He’s easy to follow because he’s got great conviction and personality, and he really wears his heart on his sleeve in terms of social interest and his desire to have a positive impact in the world.”
He went on to describe William as “pretty demanding,” a characteristic he says is great because it meant that the Prince is “pretty ambitious.”
Furthermore, estate director Ben Murphy compared William, the current owner of the Duchy, with his predecessor, admitting that he has “healthy impatience, as his father did.”
Despite this, Murphy believes that William’s “impatience…puts the wind in our sails; he really cares.”
For William, the Duchy is but an extension of the work he strives to achieve with the Royal Foundation.
He further elaborated to The Telegraph, “I see it as a branch of my philanthropy…There’s so much good we can do in the rural world. I see [the duchy] as another arm to the work that I want to do, which is being a positive force for good.”
