The conservation documentary airs next month and in it the Duke of Cambridge describes his desire to protect the planet and find new ways to restore the natural world for the next generation.
Prince William will also share that becoming a father instilled in him a, “new sense of purpose,” and made him want to protect the natural world.
There Is A New ITV Documentary Titled Prince William: A Planet For Us All
The documentary coincides with William participating in a A-list line-up for a virtual TED talk about climate change next month. The panel is composed of environmentalists and celebrities and airs on October 10. The purpose is to address how the world can manage climate change and provide a better future for the planet. The panel includes Al Gore, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Jaden Smith.
William is father to George, seven, Charlotte, five, and two year-old Louis, with wife Kate Middleton, and he will describe how becoming a father guided a change in his point of view in regard to the environment.
To that end he says in the documentary, “Now I have got George, Charlotte and now Louis in my life – your outlook does change. You want to hand over to the next generation, the wildlife in a much better condition. Two years ago a film crew joined me on my search for ways to protect the natural world.”
Fatherhood Has Given Prince William A new Sense Of Purpose
“I’ve always believed,” he says, “it’s possible to give the young people hope and belief that things can get fixed. I have the belief that if we all work together we can make a difference.”
As a part of the upcoming show, Prince William meets with people around the world who are actively playing a part in protecting and restoring the environment.
The documentary also describes his journey from being a conservationist to wanting to play a bigger leadership role on the environment.
The documentary includes naturalist Sir David Attenborough who says, “Kids know an awful lot about what is happening to the world.”
Earlier in the year Prince William launched the Earthshot Prize initiative. This initiative declared that the Earth is at a ‘tipping point’ and humans have only ten years to save the world.
