Prince William Quite Concerned About Frightening Break-In At Windsor Castle

No system is 100% perfect and no castle is 100% safe. At least we learned this when masked intruders were able to waltz into the Windsor Castle grounds while the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children slept.

This isn’t just a story about the late Princess Diana mistakenly triggering an alarm and setting guards off all those years ago, this is actually a real security threat. Happily, no one got hurt.

Masked Raiders Leave Prince William “Concerned” For Family’s Safety

Arthur Edwards doesn’t think the Prince of Wales will be taking the recent break-in lightly. And why should he?

According to reports, the fleeing thieves made their getaway by smashing a Windsor Castle security gate with a truck they stole.

That is after they’d already scaled the 6 ft fence in order to steal farm vehicles. They did all this while William and his family slept at the nearby Adelaide Cottage, where they refused to have a live-in staff.

For nearly 50 years, Arthur Edwards has been on the frontlines bringing us treasured royal family pictures, and you can bet he has a few opinions on the latest break in.

Sources believe the thieves would have been meticulous with their planning and must have watched the castle for a while.

Speaking on this, Edwards described the entire incident as “incredible.” Even though the estate is “vast,” Edwards noted that “They must be quite worried. I bet they’ve been burning the midnight oil trying to sort that one out.”

The 84-year-old then referenced a somewhat similar break-in made by intruder Michael Fagan to the late Queen’s bedroom at Buckingham Palace in 1982.

“That was all because events fell into place, one was going on duty, one was going off duty and he just walked into the room,” the photographer said. “It’s going to happen.”

Regardless, he admitted that the recent break-in was still very “frightening,” adding, “I’m sure William would have been quite concerned.”

Edwards went on to say: “It is very important to keep the Royal Family safe and I imagine William probably had some questions to ask, but they just went for the vehicles, not to harm anybody. I imagine they wouldn’t have got too close to the house anyway.”

He believes the “very well policed” grounds was still very secure, regardless of the little fact that the two thieves were able to actually break in.
