Was Prince William Stunned When Harry And Meghan Announced Megxit?
It was January 8, 2020, that Harry and Meghan Markle grandly told the world of their wonderful new life direction which consisted of them ditching The Firm that had so far supported them and paid their way.
Instead, they wanted to be independent and have financial freedom from the family, which now looks to mean they would freeload upon strangers instead of Harry’s fam.
They made it a point to say that they would split their time between the UK and North America, but does anyone believe that now, based on their conduct in the six months since Megxit?
At The Time Meghan Claimed Their Decision Was Made After Months Of Internal Discussion
Nick Bullen, editor-in-chief of True Royalty TV, told Fox News that palace insiders told him that William was gobsmacked by Harry’s unprecedented decision.
“I’m told he was really hurt when Harry chose to step away from the full-time royal title,” Bullen said. “They’ve been great friends. Really close brothers. Harry is one of the few people that William could really turn to because he knew what it was like to be in that goldfish bowl. So, I understand he was very hurt when he left.”
Did William Try To Change Harry’s Mind About Megxit?
Bullen went on to say that William tried to get Harry to reconsider his rash move, to no avail.
“When it became apparent that Harry wanted this sort of more part-time royal role, William was very clear … that there wasn’t an option for a part-time role,” Bullen said.. “You’re either in or you’re out. And I think … shows the strength of character that William has. It’s about duty first.”
Megxit Was Announced On The Sussexes’ Instagram
After the announcement, Her Majesty, asked for a face-to-face meeting with Harry to determine how his shock move could be accommodated as he apparently didn’t bother to tell his family nor try to plan things out for himself.
During that meeting, William reportedly made something very clear to his fickle brother. Bullen says, “I understand the message to Harry was, ‘You’re either in or you’re out. We’ll still be brothers. We’ll still love each other. (But) in terms of that full-time royal role, you need to make a decision.”
According to not to Bullen, William drew a line in the sand on Harry’s expectations that he could do as he pleased in regard to The Firm.
