Prince William Would ‘End COVID And World Cancer’ If He Were In Charge Of Christmas

Prince William The Duke of Cambridge, 39, chatted with Royal Marsden London Hospital’s radio station from Kensington Palace following the announcement that Her Majesty has canceled pre-Christmas lunch.

He shared his favorite activities for the festive season, talking about things like his love for “ice skating”, even though he looks like a “deer on ice” every time he indulges in the activity.

The Duke Of Cambridge Would Bring Everyone Together For Christmas If He Could

During the chat, one of the young patients at the hospital asked him what he would do if he were in charge of Christmas for a day.

William replied: “I think I’d have to make sure everyone could enjoy it. So we’d have to bring everyone together, have a big party,

“There would definitely be no Covid, and there certainly would be no cancer in the world if I was in charge of Christmas for the day,” he added, asking: “How’s that? Is that a good enough answer?”

Prince William Praises Staff At The Royal Marsden Hospital For Putting Efforts Into Improving The Mood Of Their Patients

The dad of three continued by saying that he and his family always keep the patients spending Christmas in a hospital in their thoughts, especially those at the Royal Marsden, where the staff’s efforts to uplift the spirit of their patients leaves him amazed.

“I’ve always been amazed by the positivity, the energy, the hope and the love that goes on at the Royal Marsden,” he said.

“All the team working they’re almost constantly beaming under very difficult circumstances and I always come away feeling incredibly enlightened, inspired, hopeful for everyone who’s being looked after by the Royal Marsden,” he added.

“I think a lot of people when they think of being treated for cancer or having cancer. Obviously, it’s a gloomy outlook, when you first [hear] about it, and all sorts of emotions spring to mind when you’re told.

“And so when you go there and you meet people who are having cancer treatment, you do worry, what kind of spirit they’re going to be in. Are they going to want to talk to you, are they going to want to get in advance, you know, how they manage it,” he added.

“But every single time I go, they’re worried that maybe we’re going to come across some people who are having a really tough time.

“Everyone amazes me, they are so positive, so engaging, wonderful people. And I think there’s something very levelling about what happens there. I think everyone goes there and becomes a team.

“And they all know that they have all been there, been treated for cancer. They’re all gonna fight together after each other and there’s a real camaraderie that you feel when you sit down with everyone,” he added.
